25 Years of Barsaat: "I remember being extremely nervous before the release," says Bobby Deol

Two fresh faces entered the film industry with a bang! Bobby Deol and Twinkle Khanna debuting with the romantic action film Barsaat that released exactly 25 years ago on this day. Barsaat was a story about a village boy who falls in love with a rich man's daughter and the challenges that they face in their union. Produced by Dharmendra and Sunny Deol's home banner Vijayta Films and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Barsaat is a timeless love story, making the audience fall in love with the lead pair. In fact, both Bobby and Twinkle had bagged the Filmfare Best Debut Awards the following year.

25 Years of Barsaat: "I remember being extremely nervous before the release," says Bobby Deol

With Barsaat's silver jubilee celebrations, it also marks 25 years of Bobby Deol in the industry. Bobby has been one of the most popular actors from the late 90s. Post a brief sabbatical, the talented actor made a comeback into films with his school teacher act in Poster Boys and blockbusters Race 3 and Housefull 4. He also starred in recently released digital projects Class of 83 and Aashram.

Now, two and a half decades later, while cinema and its technique has evolved, some relationships have remained the same. The same can be said about the team of the film.

Producer of Barsaat, Sunny Deol who while being committed as an actor on other films also worked day and night on Barsaat, shares, "Bobby wanted to become an actor and he had been preparing for it. We were hunting around for directors and the subject While he was preparing for his first film. We initially had Shekhar Kapur with us as the director but Rajkumar Santoshi eventually made the film and saw to its release. The title of the film also has its own share of the journey from Badal it finally got locked to Barsaat. The film holds a special place in my heart in many ways."

Reminiscing about the film, Rajkumar Santoshi shares, "I knew about Barsaat and had always wanted to work on the project. I wanted to be a part of Bobby’s launch, but Shekhar was directing it so I never mentioned anything. But when Shekhar had some other commitment that prevented him from directing the film, and I was offered the project, I jumped at the opportunity, it was an immediate yes. Then we started working on the script again, the film went through many changes. Sunny was a great producer to work with as he went with all my ideas and gave me everything I needed for the film, he never said a ‘no’. All I can say is that I am happy that I was part of the project and that I could work with the Deols. And the way the fans enjoyed it, made it even more special."

Adding further, big brother says, "Bobby is completing 25 years in the industry and I can't be more proud, he has done quite a lot of great films earlier. I can see the hunger in him now, he deserves so much more."

An excited Bobby, who is overwhelmed with the love he has received ever since 25 years, shares, "It has been an amazing journey ever since my debut in Barsaat. When the film had released, everyone had loved it and the performances. I remember being extremely nervous before the release but my father and my brother were there with me all the time. I wouldn't have been able to reach this place in my life without them. But Barsaat definitely set the ball rolling for me and Twinkle. Completing 25 years in the films today seems surreal. I have learned a lot from my successes and my failures in these years and am looking forward to the next 25 years."

EXCLUSIVE: Sonam Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Kiara Advani’s hairstylist Hiral Bhatia shares five celebrity secrets for healthy tresses

Hiral Bhatia, a celebrity hairstylist in the Indian film industry, extensively works with big names like Sonam Kapoor, Kiara Advani, even Janhvi Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandez, and many more. “I work with different celebrities so with each one there is a separate work process”, says Hiral Bhatia.

EXCLUSIVE: Sonam Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Janhvi Kapoor’s hair stylist Hiral Bhatia shares five celebrity hair care routines and the products she often recommends

When it comes to celebrity hair care routines, Hiral Bhatia says, “Everyone has different hair types. So their routines also are different. But styling hair constantly is a big part of their profession. Since their hair goes through a lot more tugging, blow-drying, heat styling, and constant exposure to styling products, they do have to be extra careful.”

“Brushing any hairspray off the hair before you sleep over it is super imp. Most of these styling products are water-soluble and come off easily with water. Massage the scalp regularly to keep stimulating your follicles. Regular hair spas, using a good heat protectant before heat styling and taking extra supplements if it’s missing in your diet. These are all an important part of their hair regime. And of course, along with regular exercise, staying away from Junk, Drinking enough water and getting good sleep,” she adds.

Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama recently, Hiral revealed what it is to create fun and evolving styles for celebrated stars. Fans often want to know what kind of hair care routines the stars follow and the products they use.

Hiral Bhatia shares 5 hair care tips that she often recommends it to the stars:

1. I am a firm believer in ‘you are what you consume’. So, if you want your hair and skin to look good, then you need to focus on yourself. A good diet, drink enough water, stay away from a lot of caffeine and junk food, get enough sleep. All these are more imp than any of the products you apply.

2. Shampoo as less often as possible. Natural oils are good for your hair. Also, one should choose your shampoo according to your scalp type.

3. Never skip conditioner and heat protectant.

4. Prevention is better than cure. Hair strands are practically dead. Once the hair is damaged, it doesn’t have the ability to undo it. So get regular trims and follow a good regime.

5. Embrace your natural texture, some hair types need more moisture than the other.

Hiral also shared the hair products and tools that one would always find in a celeb’s closet or their routine:

1. For clients who style their hair a lot- a good heat protectant.

2. A good dry shampoo. Dry shampoo instantly refreshes your roots and also adds volume.

3. During monsoon weather - Moroccan oil or serum to add more moisture.
